Through The Wardrobe – a reminiscence event 22nd September 3-5pm @Marshallls’ cafe

Amanda Raine has curated her family wardrobe’s and invites you to this one-off session to share and reminisce. Bring along an item of clothing or a photograph of a garment that means a lot to you, or bring something that triggers a memory in you – it might be a picture of you or a loved one in an outfit that you loved, or remember for other reasons!

This session will explore memories of times and places, and you will have an opportunity to share and record your stories.

The afternoon will be a fun and relaxed way of taking a walk into the history of the clothes we wear and how this relates to us on the context of our own history, memory, and cultural background.

Amanda works for us at Teesdale Day Clubs but is also involved in research for her PhD in storytelling through clothing and wardrobe. You may have seen some of her Aunt’s hat collection at the Bowes Museum in 2025 and earlier in 2026.
