Full Circle Conversations – about life & death with Andrea 13th November 1.30-3pm

Andrea Hobbs is our Strategic Manager at Teesdale Day Clubs and is also training as an End of Life Companion/Doula. These 3 sessions are an opportunity to come together as a community and chat about death and dying in an open and relaxed way. This is a subject that most of us shy away from, and yet it’s one of life’s inevitables…it’s going to happen to us all, and so it’s the one thing (apart from birth) that we all have in common.
These meetings are not a grief circle or a therapy group, but all stories and experiences of death and dying are welcome.
The structure of these meetings is informal ‘cafe style’ and run along traditional ‘Death Cafe’ lines. Death Cafe is an international movement aimed at getting people talking about death and dying, gently moving us away from discomfort into understanding and acceptance of the natural cycle of life.
Andrea is an experienced group facilitator and she will be leading each session with an invitation to pick a topic and see where it leads us…and to have a full circle conversation that everyone can participate in.
If you are simply curious about death and dying, just want to explore this topic for personal reasons, or have experiences of death and dying that you want to share but don’t know where to speak about them, then these sessions are for you.
There is no hidden agenda – these are secular discussions where all beliefs and faiths, and none, are welcome.
We are working in partnership with Marshall’s cafe to host these meetings, as a not for profit business in our community, and so please support them by buying your own drink and/or snack.
Andrea is offering her time voluntarily to host these cafe meetings. Donations are welcome to help support future meetings.
